Lately, I've been thinking about getting a pair. However, I don't know which one I should buy, if I do decide to buy one. Really, all I want is a pair that gets the job done and blocks out noise. Nothing too fancy or anything like that.

To those who wear these, what would you recommend? I don't want something that's too expensive, but one that blocks out annoying sounds and something that's at least fairly comfortable to wear.

Bose is good but a little pricy. In my opinion, my pair have been worth it.

I should go.

The american prison system is a sorry mess but giving them game consoles isn't going to solve anything.

I only have experience with this pair

They do a good job of blocking out constant noises, like the hum of a machine or something like that. They won't erase the sound of people talking to you, but whatever you're listening to might drown that out too.

I will say that they aren't necessarily the most comfortable, it took me a couple weeks of wearing to get used to wearing them.

Have you tried thinking rationally?

Forgot to say, the noise I want to block out the most is the sound of people talking. I come home from work and every day I have to deal with my nieces being loud and noisy. Whenever I come home, I just want to kick back and relax, but with these kids yelling and running around and whatnot, it's kind of hard to find peace and quiet.

If you really want to block out all voices you need some huge bulky expensive headsets. There's no ANC that can cancel out voices, just continuous noises like the A/C

I got the Sony wh1000xm3 for Christmas.

They are fuckin' INCREDIBLE.

Bose can go fuck itself, these blow them away.

I read a review after getting them, the only negative was basically "You might notice how shitty your recording quality is."

Of course. Noise canceling headphones is one of the things I must always have. I'm not uptight about brand, though. Just get something for like $100 and wait until they break

Who gifts adults $300+ headphones for Christmas? You have a wife or something?

yes, one last thing, if you look at noise canceling headphones try them in person so you know they fit.

i got me and my fiancee these for our trips on airplanes

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076H63ZK7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

cheap, but effective. i flip that switch and im in heaven. and the sound is great too.

now of course, these are no 300 dollar sony/bose whatever headphones, but i think they're great.

in fact, on my last flight back there was a screaming kid behind me on the flight. i put my headphones on, flipped that ANC and he was gone. didn't hear him. its great.
