We all know people online are super helpful but what about the games themselves? Assuming they give any general tips.

I can't think of anything too outlandish right now. Just redundant stuff like "sneaking makes you harder to detect!" Or when games tell me to take a break.

Not really tips, but Dragon Age Inquisition would throw these giant codex entries in your face with practically no time to read any of it.

One annoying tutorial thing was the fucking owl in OoT.

It explains things and you automatically mash the button but the first choice is "no repeat that long winded text".

Besides the FFVII one, anything telling you about stuff that either was removed via patches, online only (and therefore inaccessible on most ps3 games after 2-3 years), or else related to microtransactions. "Think things are too hard? Try our monthly pass and get a huge boost today!"

Oh gods, that's right, wasn't the physical strategy guide basically half the stuff it should have had and the rest was only online if you had the voucher from buying the guide new?

The full line is "Attack while it's tail's up! It's gonna counterattack with it's laser!". So naturally many people figured that read as "attack while its tail's up or it's gonna counterattack with its laser", instead of what it actually meant, which was "if you attack while its tail is up, it'll counterattack with its laser."

I have an MA in English and that shit STILL trips me up even after I realize what they meant lol

It was not quite THAT bad. More just visiting the website and using the key term they had listed. That said, the content in the physical guide also contained errors that made me wonder if they had even tried what was written and was laughably incomplete compared to guides here even if one could be bothered to combine the printed and online content.

Part of the problem comes from reacting to his text.
"Atack while it's tail is up" (wrong "its" btw)

...A tip that he says after you've died twice (More than likely to said Power Laser).

he was the "SOLDIER" that worked for shinra, so he is the one who shares the knowledge on shinra's robots. doesn't makes sense if it was Barret.

In the SNES version the text would scroll slowly and not until after it turned to mist, but you can't cancel your attacks that are already charging. It says don't, hold your attack... After you attack it.
