I think it is a game that had huge impact on this decade and definitely one I played for half this decade which is more than I can say for most, other than FFXIV.

Yeah, it came out in Oct 2009.
But my reasoning is it was barebones then and it took off in 2010. And it steadily got bigger and bigger through the decade. Even today, it is one of the top games on twich and when they release new cinematics they are on youtube frontpage. It's success was not part of the last decade, but this one. And that is of course because it got patched every month and was not the game that came out in 2009. That was tbh more like a beta. 2010-2011 is when it hit the real formula that it is now. C or D? Minecraft's exception is because the 2009 release was a beta version. That doesn't apply to LoL.

I believe the rule should be when 1.0 releases. Many people will be under assumption that minecraft was released this decade and that the 2009 release was the alpha build. We are no longer in the decade where when the game releases is the official sold for console build.

Minecraft's official release date was in 2011, it was alpha/beta/whatever before that.
