Darth Vader wants Rebels to captured
But everytime they attack rebels they blow them up so brutally that there are no survivors.
Vader blames the commander and is going to kill hm
Vader figures out that it's not the commander, it's a random guy who survived Alderaan and is now trying to sabotage the empire by making them never capture rebels or get any intel by wiping out all targets with extreme overkill.
Knowing this Vader targets the colony of New Alderaan and makes the guy unknowningly target his own family.
Guy massacres his own family with brutal overkill.
Vader doesn't kill him but makes him work in a labor camp for life to agonize over what he has done
