It's Ronald McDonald.

Because McDonald's pulled the Batman Returns Happy Meal toys over parental complaints that the film was too dark for kids, Tim Burton was effectively fired as director and replaced by Joel Schumacher. You know how that turned out.

A Bat Credit Card and a set of Bat Nipples were the price he paid for submitting to the will of America's fast-food juggernaut. Batman's weakness: capitalism.

Was this before or after Police Academy, Rambo, Robocop, and Toxic Avenger got cartoons?

Ah, the classic "turn indicators" confrontation. May it be fondly remembered as one of the best moments in either man's career.

Yeah but if that continued then there would be not Dark Knight trilogy. And probably no MCU.

it was such a weird time. Movies like Aliens and Terminator 2 was very firmly not for small kids yet it had tons of toys made for ages 4+

Ah, Memphis wrestling.

And I hate Batman Forever more than Batman and Robin. BF had so much more potential to be good. Schumacher has made good movies in the past. The cast is great. All that was wasted though. B&R didn't have that and was expected to be terrible. At least you can laugh at it more.

And I like Batman Returns, but it did get a little too dark and out their at times. It got too Tim Burton-y.

"Villain dogpile" movies almost never work.

Lost Boys and Falling Down are legit.

I feel like the movie would've been fine had Penguin not coughed up black bile or bitten that one guy's nose bloody. Take out those two elements out and, if anything, you probably have parents complaining about how sexually suggestive the movie is.

The including Robin and a refresher course on Batman's history, the movie had four origins to explain away. It's still the least of the movie's problems though.

I still can't tell if it's sad or awesome that the 1966 Batman movie was able to handle Robin and a villain dogpile just fine.

You can juggle multiple characters if you don't have to explain their origins. A number of old James Bond movies had three or four villains in one picture.

A local theater showed Batman: The Movie last year. It was pretty fun.

It almost seems like something out of The Lego Batman Movie.

They were released. They were just pulled faster than expected. I distinctly remember having the Batmobile and the Penguin's vehicle with the parasol on the front of it. I'm not sure if I had the other two.
