He's a stranger from Facebook who venmo'd me. I keep reminding him and he just says "oh yeah I gotta make it up there"

You don't want your item you bought two months ago?? I want it out of here, what would you do?

Give him a time limit to pick it up in and if he doesn't tell him you will have to give him a refund and put it back up for sale.

Look up unclaimed property laws for your state. Most states will require you to make documented attempts to reconnect with the owner, file some paperwork with an appropriate agency, and wait for a specified period of time. After that you may very well be able to claim the property and do whatever you want with it.

Unless that was part of the original contract or agreement he has no legal obligation to pay for transport of the item to the new owner. It would be in his best legal interest to not bother, as any potential liability from transport is better left unambiguously with the new owner.

Does he have your address? Tell him you're putting it out on the porch on date X, and then do that.
