...so how in the bloody hell are people okay with abortion "up until birth." I mean..., once the mom hits that last month, that kid had a NINETY-FUCKING-PERCENT-CHANCE (or even higher) of life.

Now granted, I realize many people advocate for abortions for actual medical reasons (to save the life of the mom, etc.), but the most in-depth statistical studies have revealed that the vast majority of abortions are performed for "economic" or "preferential" reasons. The abortions due to legitimate medically-based causes actually quite rare (though the DO happen. - Legit abortion is legit.)

But, the whole concept of "birth" is an arbitrary line with no MEDICAL basis whatsoever. A kid 10 days before birth and 10 days after birth is biologically identical. The ONLY difference is that he or she hasn't breached the wall yet. So, if a baby is aborted within that last month of pregnancy, then MEDICALLY-SPEAKING, you killed a being that had a real, sincere chance (and can fully feel pain at that point just as well as born child can). That's not anyone's "opinion." That's just medical reality.

If we're talking about LATE-TERM abortions for NON-MEDICAL reasons (which, again, are statistically the most prevalent cases), then you can't really sugar-coat the severity of what's being done to those kids trapped behind the wall.

TL/DR Version: Unless we can somehow draw the line BEFORE the kid has a real shot at real life, and can feel pain, abortion is far worse than strictly "healthcare" or "birth control" (and I'm not talking mere semantics, I'm talking about actual medical standards of survivability). I'm afraid this reality isn't ever going to change, no matter where the debates take us.

who is supposedly okay with this?

Even the most progressive states have a cutoff point and generally the view held by even pro-choice groups is that an abortion past the second trimester isnt okay unless the pregnancy threatens the life of the mother

Got THAT right. You know, aside from the fact that nobody willingly aborts in the third trimester without serious medical reasons. It's hypocritical and heartless to suggest otherwise just to have a talking point you think will shock people into thinking like you do (though frankly, I wouldn't lay money on critical thinking being a skill such folks practice very often).
