This girl I'm texting suggested a few things she likes to do, and one of them is movies, and she said she likes action movies.

Don't do a date at the movie.

no. also, it's not an action movie.

There's about 8 bullets fired in the whole movie.

oh, and WWI was when the machine gun was invented for warfare.

I say again, 8 bullets in the movie.

A movie about WWI.

It's more like a stay in at home movie when you're living together (or spending weekends together).

not really a date movie

It's a pretty good date movie, but it's still no Manchester by the Sea

Movies are horrible for first dates. You don't talk for 2-3 hours, the memory of the date is overwhelmingly tied to the enjoyment of the movie, and really doesn't set up well for a second date.

Leave the movie dates for when you're in an established relationship rather than just starting out.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

Well, I asked where she likes to hang out with people, and she listed restaurants, movies, bars, concerts, or her friends' place. What should I go with instead?
My place is out of the question since I don't have a couch. Just two dining chairs and a queen size bed.
I wouldn't mind a bar if I don't have to get anything alcoholic.
And I don't mind restaurants, but the only thing I can come up with is IHOP.

You need to pick something. You're the guy.

Is there a zoo in your city? Museum? Oh, or an escape room-type place?

my current GF and I did things where I picked 1 weekend's date, and she picked the next - she picked an escape room (and a movie)...and it was REALLY fun. The 60 minutes went by really fast and wwe laughed a lot.

A painting class where you go and paint for 1-2 hours is also a fun date idea.

If you're going to do a movie for a first date (don't heavily recommend, at least not without incorporating other activities into it), then do something popular and lighthearted that everyone knows, like Airplane. When you're quoting the lines together, something magical happens and you feel a strong connection.

Also if you're at home you can make it a little more romantic, plus talk and enjoy yourselves without worrying about other people.

Nothing like that here. It's a pretty poor town.

Sounds like a good idea. Wonder if I should look for one...

Hah. I don't want to scare her off that fast, though. I'll let my natural personality take care of that over time.

She also said she's good with whatever I pick, but the only thing I'd personally like is a mall, but that might be kinda lame. Also, the one I'd like is a ways off, but it has the last remaining arcade that I know of.
