I think it was really well done, and clearly alluded to much earlier on. So it wasn't without precedent

It was hinted at as far back as s3.

Finale was amazing imo. Sad they had to rush some plotlines but they did a good job of wrapping everything up

It's one of very few same-sex relationships I've seen in media that doesn't feel forced or contrived. It was fantastically done, alluded to through at least half of the entire series, and was developed more naturally throughout the series than any relationship I can think of in media, same-sex or otherwise.

the orgalorc arc was the weakest, but it picked up the last 2-3 seasons imo. alot of character development and the elements arc, the humans arcs, etc are amazing.

Yeah I'd agree that the Catalyst comet was shaping up to be something waaay bigger and cooler than it was. Kinda disappointing

I watched 5 and 6 and wouldnt say garbage necessarily, but it did definitely feel like a significant drop in quality.

How many more episodes are there after s6, does anyone know?

Yeah, the show bogs down HARD with the comet arc and the general jerkass Finn arc which played out over 2+ years real time. It picks back up once you get past that Varmints is a real turning point, IMO, both in episode quality and in the development of Bubblegum and Marceline. Then they get into the three arcs(Stakes, Island, and Elements) and those are all great, IMO.

It's a shame because I enjoyed the comet arc up until the actual comet episode. The comet episode was pretty damn lame >_>

The buildup was good the payoff just sucked

Pretty much. It watching it in real time was a pain because of cartoon network shitty schedule that prioritize ttg over actual good shows.

it's no "Slow dance with you", or "Everything stays" though. i had those stuck in my head for days

And then I went back and listened again and I love it
