The cat is on his way to the vet right now but I've seen this twice before and I hope to god this goes different. People have suggested bringing the deceased cat home and letting the other smell it so they get a sense of closure, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I was fortunate the other cat only looked around for the deceased cat for a few days and quickly enjoyed being the only cat, but your situation may vary. It's an option, but a very tough one at that.
