Seriously, this is one of the laziest smear talking points used to discredit Sanders. All it takes is some basic school level history knowledge to know that his policy proposals don't have any marxist communist base behind them.

Pretty much all of Europe, especially the nordic countries, use Sanders' welfare state policies, and they are all capitalist countries.. I cringe that there are literally jornalists being paid to spew this nonsense about him being some kind of soviet agent or something. It's nuts.

Here in Brazil we have actual communist and socialist parties and politicians, who would actually consider Sanders a liberal and imperialist, believe it or not. I swear, Red Scare politics made it that americans couldn't tell what communism is if it bit them in the ass. In the rest of the world, Bernie is center-left best.

an economy can be big and not trickle down equally to it's citizens, China has had one of the most impressive economic build ups ever and has an economy now noticeably bigger than say the Netherlands.
few with a straight face would say the average Chinese citizen lives as well as the average Dutch one, many Americans live in outright economically depressed communities or on the economic margins in general where boom cycles frequently outright miss them

We have the highest wages in the world (save like, two small countries), low unemployment and a very progressive taxation system. You can do way worse than the US and most people who think otherwise have never been outside of it.

America is not a Nordic country.

The problem is not just the policies in place, but also the land mass, the population size, the general opinions on topics, etc.

Yes, the Nordic Democratic socialist system is working very well, but I cannot see the same measures applied 1:1 to the USA.

Also, American politics are generally more to the right. For example, the Democrat party overall would be to the right of some right wing European parties.
