I did in HS. It was kind of fun to exchange letters and learn about different places, etc. I eventually lost contact with all of them as time went on. I did continue with a few of them for a while as e-mail became a thing.

I did in high school for my German class. The guy stopped talking to me after a couple e-mails though, but I got lucky and found another German guy my age playing Counter-Strike so I just asked him for his help lol.

I was midway through college when it became widely available. By that time I only had maybe one or two pen pals remaining. Not really, no. I remember having to write a soldier as part of a class project. I got a response and that was it.

One of my old school friends was Mormon and wrote letters to me when he went off on his mission. After a few letters back and forth he wrote to me saying he wanted me to buy a copy of the Mormon bible and read it, pray about it, etc. and I just never wrote him back.

I used to trade Overpower cards through the mail with someone named Kim Sui years ago. I drew her(?) a picture of Onslaught, she(?) sent me a blank piece of paper with "Invisible Woman" written on the bottom.
