I can tell these controls are going to ruin a great game for me because im loving the actual content so far, but i feel like im playing an early ps1 game.

You get use to the controls pretty quick with the new one.

Just be glad you're not playing the original. You had to claw grip the controller and your hand would cramp to hell.

I played the remaster of the game and never the original.

I just could not get into it. As you said, the controls left a little to be desired, and I felt that I missed out on the grand scale of the game. I figure it made a lot more impact if you played the original in the PS2 era vs trying to play the remaster after we have had so many games build a large detailed world.

That's probably because your memories of how PS2 games played aged better than they actually have heh.

I don't particularly remember issues with the controls when I played it on PS3 outside of the wonky grip meter.
