I have to admit, though, for being five years old...this game still looks damn good. The lighting is perfect. The darkness is foreboding.

...and I still can't shake that movie nostalgia. Its amazing.

Hmm...playing on PC. Game itself runs buttery smooth, but the cutscenes, yeah, just seem jittery. (._.)

EDIT: Seems its because they're prerendered cutscenes despite looking like they're in-game. Looks like the console versions were patched but it wasn't on PC possibly?

One of the coolest things is a cutscene with someone with plot relevance that gets killed by the alien. But when I was doing that cutscene or plot point I had my radar out and I could see the alien right outside his door which he conveniently opened and died to.

Man, took a little break to get some food, came back, died 3 three times trying to get around the human enemies in the area after when you get the broken tuner. Me being a little impatient on one, but the other two, the guy near the door you need to go through on that upper level just glitched out or something and would only patrol in a small line in that little office area up top. Couldn't get to the door without him seeing me from either side. >.<

Finally made it though, walk down some stairs, hear them say they're coming down too, move forward some, hear that telltale hiss...nope nope nope.

...I love this game already.

I think this game is a good way of balancing the helplessnes of something like Amnesia with the action of something like RE. Varying levels of helplessness among the various enemies.

hooooooooooooooooooo boy, finished mission 3, had my first real encounter with the alien at the end there. tried to follow my path from that stairwell along the office on the left side to the restaurant area and right as i turned around the corner she was walking straight at me. backed into the office, waited a a little bit, walked back out and she was gone.

oh boy...that was exhilarating

That was it for tonight...played a little into the next area. Screenshots, reactions, etc. do not do those androids justice...they are creepy motherfuckers. That one in the security office when you first get off the elevator is especially creepy...his head following you as you move left to right, back and forth, etc.

To be honest, I avoided this game for the longest time because I didn't think I'd enjoy a game where you always have to be on your toes like this...RE2 and Mr. X got me acclimated to it a bit and into some story-driven horror like the Blair Witch game (which I enjoyed). Felt right to give this game a shot with how much praise its gotten...

...and to prepare myself for Nemesis being able to pop up at any point for the entirety of the upcoming RE3 remake. >.>

The Alien is controlled by 2 separate AI. One is the actual alien, which doesn't know where you are unless it sees you. The other is kinda like a "brain" for it, where it slowly feeds hints about your location to it, based upon what you do. Noises you make, places it knows you keep hiding in, ect.

So, the more you play a certain way, the more adept it becomes at locating you.

It took me forever to finish this game because i used to suffer nightmare terrors thanks to watching the alien movies when i was a kid, needless to say this fucking game was hard to play lol
