I was flying maybe 100 feet over Stanton Island, and somehow, I managed to "hit" an insane stunt jump. Stupid thing not only messed with my camera, but I had to deliberately crash the plane in order to regain control over the camera.

All this before even starting the first mission even.

It isnt easy to fly but it can be done.

I liked the gradual additions to those games from 3 to SA. VC had the sea plane Dodo (Skimmer) and the Apache (Hunter).

I am flying it for 2 reasons. First reason is to get the final hidden package on the drawbridge (landing the plane on that part is a nightmare in itself), and that involves making the plane completely intact, so the wreck won't despawn, simply so I can actually collect that package.

Second, is to do that Import/Export garage in Portland. The only car that can't be spawned on Portland is the Blista, but I can force it to spawn during Firefighter (which I did all of the levels for already on all islands). No way I know of making a car jump the bridge.

After numerous attempts to do it last night, I resumed doing it today.

Landed on the bridge on my first attempt, and then drove the plane so that it is angled on the raised median, so I could collect the package. Then I saved the Dodo in the Staunton Island garage where I will bring it to Portland.

What version are you playing? PS2 release or a later port? I own the PS2 version on both PS2 and PS3, along with the Steam version.

It technically doesn't. The Dodo is basically assigned as a "car" with the flying cheat turned on at all times. And even then, it was never meant to be flown in the first place.

The Dodo was the only one, and it was never considered a good air plane. Real pain in the arse to fly. But with practice, it is possible. Was a lot easier to fly in San Andreas.

I never 100% San Andreas because the flying controls were shit and that time limit mission with the NEET was impossible.

Are you insane?

Out of ALL of the vehicles (let alone schools), aircrafts are perhaps the EASIEST ones to master.

If you're playing the game normally, you don't. I think TC is trying to collect all of the packages before doing the first few missions. That requires using the Dodo because the bridge doesn't start moving until you're more than halfway through the story.
