They are literally shocked that removing a category the most currently popular Odyssey member runs, without notice is getting them a lot of backlash from that guy and his fanbase.

"What, we did something that would obviously piss him off, but look at this rant, he's the one that causes drama, not us!"

*shocked Pikachu face*

Their reasoning is that the category would be inactive so no use in having it... I guess that would be valid if there weren't other categories that literally have no activity still up, lol. Now, we got this "it's not really a speedrun, it's a challenge run" memes popping up. I can't vote on this issue since I don't technically have a run on the speedrun leaderboards, but I have ran the game plenty of times. It's kind of lame because the only reason I can't post a run on the board is because I don't have a way to record it.

You used to be able to submit runs on the leaderboard without video-proof if your time was above a certain threshold (obviously they aren't going to believe you if you say you got an awesome time), but the mods voted to remove all those runs because the 64 whiners were mad that Odyssey had double the activity on speedrun.com because of this.

I am now hearing that a lot of runners wanted the category removed now, but I can't but feel that is only the case because they are mad at the guy who ran it and want to punish him for some reason. I don't really buy runners actively wanting categories off the board. If you do, you're kind of a jerk, especially if it isn't a run you even do. They are mad because he ranted against the community after this (again, shocked Pikachu face), and his fanbase is filled with the type of people that you would expect any large fanbase to have. Omg, this fan said something terrible, that must mean it's all the runner's fault!

I mean, the mods have been lying, and I can't help but see they have constantly tried to change the narrative to either make the runner look bad, or gain sympathy on their end so it's harder to argue against them because then you will look bad for siding with the more toxic side of the dude's fanbase. It's hard for me to side with them for the fact that the dude they are against has helped the community out with his tutorials versus them who have driven people like me away because they are gatekeepers and have squashed the potential of the Odyssey community with their own dumb decisions that anyone could see would cause a lot of drama, but for some reason, they act oblivious too.
