I always find it really suspect when people feel they need to point out all the different xxxxphiles for different age types. Like why are they trying to defend child rapists and paedophiles? Some sort of hidden agenda?

"Underage / child porn" aren't legal charges in the same sense that you don't go to jail for killing someone, you go to jail for murder or manslaughter.

If you look at his actual charges (which are public record) it should tell you the ages (usually a range like 13-17, or something more vague like toddlers).

First of all, if you're a parent, you have to prioritize your kids over a friend. I can understand wanting to support someone who's had some hard times, but I would never let someone like that around my little girl, no matter the circumstances.

That said, I do think the laws need to be updated because right now, there are high schoolers being busted for child porn when they sext each other. That's a huge difference from the type of horrific predators that abuse small children.

You guys are so quick to jump to demonize TC for sticking by his friend despite his sordid past. So judgy.

Anyway, I don't think there's a legal distinction between a minor that's 7 and a minor that's 17, though I think there are legal distinctions depending on the act and the age difference. Like, obviously you're gonna get in trouble for trying to lay your hands on a child, but someone 20 might not get in trouble for being intimate with a 17 year old due to age of consent laws and the small difference in age. Like, maybe they were together in high school, just not in the same class. And I personally think it's stupid for people to get so upset about someone who's attracted to a 17 year old. Is something gonna change when they turn 18? Not really. They're not gonna wake up on the morning of their 18th birthday in a suit, write a resum, know how to do their taxes, buy a home, and start a business career. They're gonna be the same nervous, immature, inexperienced teenager, possibly into their early twenties if they're not challenged or motivated enough to grow up. It's an arbitrary line drawn in the sand, and sand is fluid and ever changing. I'm not saying go after a 14 year old, but I am saying someone 16 or 17 is basically an adult in physiology, if nothing else. They occupy this weird space where they're interested in adult activities, like working, driving, drinking, smoking, sex, and personal agency in general yet are treated, both legally and socially, like children with no minds or opinions of their own. Maybe if we introduced more adult responsibilities to teens more early on, they'd mature faster and not be so pathetic as 25 year olds with no future plans mooching off their parents indefinitely. I mean, what 17 year olds do you people know that aren't interested in owning their own car or getting into a relationship or having sex or setting their own rules? They're not little kids, not at all. They may not have the maturity and responsibilities of adults, lack of experience, but they're not babes who follow all the rules and hold mommy's hand and play with toys. You're all blinded by what society has told you is wrong and terrible just because "that's the way things are". Think for yourselves and form your own opinions, don't just listen to what some old men in robes say.

Child porn is beyond terrible because the grown adult is taking advantage of a small child. Children cannot consent to sex because they are not physically or mentally developed enough for it. Also there is a possibility of the child getting pregnant
