I used to have that happen on my big toes a lot. The worst one had a shard detach and work its way up through the skin over a several day period (maybe a week or longer) before finally piercing out so I could remove it fully. That was lame.

Just had minor surgery this past Friday to kill off the roots on the sides of my right big toe. I've had both big toes worked on. The surgery is no problem at all. The bandaging and after shower work is the worst of it.

The worst was when I was a teenager and had one, and a cousin of mine accidentally stomped on my foot when we were playing some game.

Oh god the blood was everywhere.

One time I had surgery on my big toe for an ingrown toenail. It was pretty gruesome, tbh.

to this day, that toenail is shaped like a rectangle. On the sides, these fragmented toenail pieces grow in and I have to rip them out. Its not very fun.

It's like your toe is constantly stubbed. So it hurts but it's not like kidney stones or anything.

It's like your toe is constantly stubbed. So it hurts but it's not like kidney stones or anything.

I can't agree. The worst ingrowns are worse than a constantly stubbed toe. It's much more of a sharp pain, and it isn't necessarily constant. Imagine having a blunt needle a centimeter under your skin, slowly but surely extending out towards the surface. So every tiny bit of pressure on that skin is just pressure added to the pointy end of the blunt needle. That's what it's like for me.
