I remember telling my manager I was puking all day, he told me cool well see you for your shift. Threw up a few times before clocking in, greeted my table, went and threw up some more and was like soooo you really want me here and they sent me home.

They dont give a fuck if youre sick or not, finding coverage can be the most difficult thing in the world sometimes.

Yeah the whole "bring a doctor's note if you're sick" is total bullshit. You go to a clinic and there are signs discouraging people with the flu or cold from seeking medical help.

Not really no. It is entirely on management to ensure shifts are covered. The issue is there are a lot of people running places who are incompetent, so they pass their jobs onto the people below them.

So like when you get hired to any food related job one of the first things they tell you are the few required days a year and that anytime youre sick you need a note and if you need a shift off you need to find coverage yourself.

but this is the internet so we have everyone discussing stuff they dont know about.

I had 3 jobs in the food industry, this is bullshit. They just don't want to pay overtime or give enough hours to make employees full time. And that's on management and corporate alone, not the employees
