Doesn't that only really happen in walkthroughs that go of their way to avoid spoilers for some reason?
Anyone reading a walkthrough is intentionally and actively wanting to be spoiled.

No I've seen it in spoiler ones. Like, let's say some small fence was somewhere blocking your path but later it's gone. literally all it'll say is something like, and I'm massively paraphrasing here, "go back to this general area, go to where the fence was earlier". I feel like the people who write like that assume you're following it step by step and nobody actually does that.
