I've seen so much conflicting information on this, about whether or not it's actually been passed or turned down, etc., and it's getting confusing at this point.

My family doesn't have a lot of money, so I feel pretty sure that we'd qualify if this actually happened and there were income restrictions, but... at this point, it's hard to believe anything being said about it at this point.

They passed (the second) stimulus bill TODAY, which doesn't have the $1000 Trumpbucks, but DOES contain provisions to help small businesses (less than 500 employees), increase free testing, and paid leave.

The third bill, which is expected to include the free Trumpbucks, is being proposed NOW, mainly being crafted by Republicans and the White House, to later include Democrat input (although other provisions, like small business loan programs, are being worked on by small groups of bipartisan representatives/senators).

$1000 is chump change to the 1%, so that's a pretty stupid reason not to send help to people who need it.

If you're talking about Obama's stimulus checks, people didn't get that money until the following year while doing taxes. If you're talking about George W. Bush's stimulus checks, then yes, I was too young to get them.

My family could use a new freezer to put some extra meat and such away for later, though, so this would be a big help. There are some other constructive uses we'd be able to put it towards, too.

That would take too long to track accurately, people need this assistance ASAP.

For people that don't necessarily need it for bills they'll spend their extra money on stuff and kickstart the economy again

Unless you think former Obama advisor Jason Furman is the same person as Trump.

I mean, really. If you read it, it says that this occurred during a private Democrat House Caucus meeting, and that the idea was presented by a former Obama staffer. Trump is nowhere mentioned in that tweet.

Edit: Not to mention, Water's proposal is exactly the same as Furmans, cept it's 2k to every American instead of just 1k (and as her proposal doesn't exclude millionaires/billionaires, and since his tweet was made just two days ago, it's seems Pelosi' mind is still made up on not giving people money if rich people are included)

They need to just cut everyone who has been laid off or had their hours significantly cut back a check for 2k and possibly suspend mortgage payments/rent for the month

yeah these are my thoughts on this too, if they don't want to give it to everyone then they can figure out who they didn't want to give it to come next tax season and get it back there or something, they can waste time arguing about it then instead of now when a lot of people really need it
