DanHaren2019 03/19/20 3:10:07 PM #1:	Trump talked about how he was gonna use the Defense Production Act to help states get medical supplies. Today he said basically states are on their own and he's not gonna do that because the federal government is "not a shipping clerk" 3M is the company that makes n95 masks, they are currently working on 35 million masks. Pence said theres plenty of masks available currently. Thats basically bullshit. Theres a massive shortage everywhere. Alot of hospitals dont even have enough to last a week at this point and some hospitals are doing makeshift masks. Its so bad that the CDC even put out statements about how you can use bandanas and scarves to cover your face. Why would they do that if there are plenty of masks? I can't believe the federal government is 2 months behind on all this despite having the intelligence to act on it. And now that the disaster is right infront of us, they still are incapable of responding appropriately. Their response has been an absolute joke. A week or so ago, we were instructed to change them every 4 hours, so this speaks to how the shortage has magnified. Mind you I work in a top 30 city in the US, so not exactly a small town. Its funny cuz that paper that everyone is basing this on was presented on fox news the night before, and it was a lawyer who was talking about it. Trump probably saw it and said, hey drug works, lets push for it. Its all a distraction tbh and Trump flaunting this is probably doing more harm. No you have every patient asking for this drug because Trump said its approved. That drug will be rapidly depleted, and people who truly need it wont be able to get it. And as far as the study goes, its a really shitty study. For the FDA to approve a drug indication with THAT study would be an absolute joke and purely a political move. Physicians use whatever drugs they want regardless of FDA indication. This is just a political move by Trump tbh to make it seem like he's being aggressive.
