Meanwhile I'm on Day 3 and I'm about 5 ore away from being able to build the shop. I kinda wish everything didn't take a full real day to complete; beginning of this game is so slow.

I ran into Sahara though and I got the animated thunderstorm wallpaper. Pretty cool!

yep! once you complete the set up they'll come in one per day

i'm not sure if you have to actually complete the prepwork for all three houses before the first one will arrive though

Time travel in Animal Crossing has always struck me as such a "but why" thing to do. Like, the entire appeal is that the game is non-grindy, relaxing and super slow-paced; feels weird to want to force it to be a typical grind like any other game.

Well to me it just seemed like the early part of the game locked a lot of the cool stuff behind waiting for buildings to go up, so I time traveled past that. Only like one day at a time though. There are people that have time traveled to max out their money and such which seems pointless.

Unless you miss a once a year thing because of pure circumstance, I think its almost inexcusable, and Im a little sour they didnt do anything to prevent it

I always start out pure for awhile.

But eventually as each day starts having less to do, I'll get bored and break down and start traveling to the next day early so I can keep playing.

The same will most likely happen with New Horizons, it's just a matter of when. This one has so far had more to do on a daily basis, so maybe it'll take me longer to get to that point. Might depend on how lucky I get with crossbreeding flowers, lol.

I think, because the game came out at midnight and 'tomorrow' doesn't happen until 5am, there was a brief window for people to get ahead, but I could be wrong.

So yeah, the bell economy is generally fucked. My buddy was really in wonder of the animal crossing discord with all of the trading of furniture. Some rare items going for hundreds of thousands, some stuff actually going for a million.

It was like "damn, some people are really on the grind and want nice stuff!"

but really they are just spawning in millions of bells for themselves. pretty disappointing tbh.

the economy in online trading for Animal Crossing is pretty typically fucked just from time travelers but yeah dupe glitch definitely dumping gallons onto that

at least the B8 economy so far is "drop some fruit if you have anything new but it's fine if you don't"

Long fishing chains are absolutely not necessary for finding rare fish. I break mine all the time, but I've found 3-4 oarfishes, 2 sturgeons, a coelacanth, a stringfish, a barreleye, a golden trout, and I dunno what else is rare.
