For years, pandemics had been used as a selling point for novels, movies and games

Now that we are actually living through one with all the dramas and thrills that comes with the lockdowns, quarantines, etc, do you still look at pandemics the same way ?

They don't use them as a plot because they are "exciting" any more than they use rape, murder, cancer, war, etc. It's not supposed to be something you look forward to. It's supposed to be something you dread.
