The way I see it a typical hipster is someone who has an eccentric physical apperance (in terms of dress, hairstyle, piercings, tattoos, etc) and is super into various art forms (especially indie films/theater/music). They also tend to be really into quick-witted humor, often involving obscure cultural references.
