taking previous results across gamefaqs contests and comparing the strength of the performances, using Link (consistently the strongest entity -game or character- in gamefaqs contests) as the benchmark

but do remember those are stats from 2015. 54-46 is not enough to guarantee TLOU is still ahead 5 years later.

Not a bad idea, this is an interesting strategy, personally i just pick whatever i think will win based on the boards

And the people in the topic mostly use that to build the consensus, really.

I think the winning strategy is to stick to the stats at first, then try to predict the few matches that will go against them.

That said, this contest has way less stats available than usual, since the most recent ones we have are from 2015. Unless you count GotY polls, which are not very reliable (but are still used anyway).
