It's really good, one of my favorite RPGs to play on Switch atm. I've played it in PS3, PS4, and PC also

One of the very few games that lets you customize your height. You could be an Amazonian or a Dwarf if you wanted, so that's a plus for me. But the game itself is pretty fun so far. Had the ending spoiled, do not like it or the idea of it, but it hasn't made me stop.

I like a game where you feel like you're undertaking a massive quest and there's a lot to explore. Is this one of those? I guess Witcher 3 had a bland ass main story but was still fun because there were interesting characters and quests

The main game is okay but fun enough. I absolutely loved the added dlc part, bbi (which is part of dark arisen).

If you go into it early, it's like playing dark souls but with a drastically better combat system and ai helpers. I would wail on stuff for like an hour and actually kill it. It was really rewarding because if you screw up once, you're dead.

The problem with that is it will make you a super god for the main game. You'll have weapons and armor better than anything in the main story and become stupidly overleveled. It's essentially a chore at that point to finish.

Probably. I was on adderall. And when Im on that stuff, I have a hard time giving a shit about the story...just give me the fuckin gameplay! *Grinds teeth*

But the side quests are all fetch quests. So the side content definitely relies on Gameplay

It's not bad. It has your typical story but the gameplay is the best part about it. You have a decent variety of vocations you can choose from, some are ok, others pretty powerful.

It can be a bit of a slog at first but once you start getting Port Crystals and placing them at specific places you can fast travel.

Another thing to remember is it does have some hidden quests, and they appear usually after each story mission, and some have very specific and short windows.

If you get it I recommend turning off Pawn chatter as they will get very annoying with phrases like "It seems all roads lead to Gran Soren" and "Wolves hunt in packs!", etc.

This. Magick Archer is pretty much the most OP vocation in the game, especially in enclosed areas.

Another thing I should mention is that every vocation has it's own stat gains. The Assassin vocation for example offers higher strength then other classes.

You typically don't have to worry about min/maxing your stats unless you decide to focus solely on one vocation.

It's great, the expansion isn't the greatest thing given they just slightly modified the same room for the most part and commanded you buy the game again just to play it. But as a standalone these days it's a solid single player game with passive online features.

If you get it on steam, I highly recommend you get the restoration mod for the opening song.

If you have trouble you can go to the board and ask for help from other players. They're actually all pretty decent over there and just ask if you can hire their high level pawns.

its got a few serious core faults in that the quests are pretty generic and copy paste affairs as well as most of the enemies you fight. the backtracking can get extremely tedious since quicktravel is severely limited and while the story eventually gets bonkers it takes FOREVER to get interesting (im talking 3/4ths of the way through the game).

that said its got great character customization and allows for a lot of different character classes. the combat is fantastic for pretty much everything as is the sense of movement which is a rare thing in most rpg's (and comes off as more of an action game a lot of times). music is good, boss battles are incredible (and is considered to have one of the best "final" boss battles put into a game). its online features are unique, its got a lot of replay value and the world feels hand crafted and lived in.

for the most part the game relies on its combat, but its also one of those things where its highs are so astronomically high that it helps you forget about a lot of its more serious lows.

I played probably 4 hrs of it. it's a very nice game. I got hit with mmo rush and strategy gaming. It's a game that'll be haunting me to finish in my backlog lol

I'm playing it right now. Played the original back in the day but was not gonna buy it again just for DA. Now I did. It's still great.

Not only do I recommend it, I recommend beating twice.

Not only that. You don't have to put up with all the technical issues you had on ps3. Shit got pretty sloppy

Good game that you don't really play for the story

I use a great deal of the soundtrack for dnd combat/ambiance. Stellar game.
