The lockdowns and stay at home orders are there to slow down the spread, not completely stop it. Stopping it is impossible coz only countries like China can force such extreme quarantine measures and the fucking snowflakes / self-taught "experts" today don't listen to isolation orders. Why slow down then? Because it lets hospitals prepare for the massive number of infected by supplying themselves with protective gear, medicine, medical devices. But guess what, Trump fucked that up badly, too, and hospitals are badly undersupplied, overloaded. Even without that, lockdowns let the companies prepare for it. Economy heading for depression. I'm still currently employed and working at work, in a long term care pharmacy, but our business has declined 40% in the last month. I just bought a car in early February, I live alone. I worry daily about my mom and sister. I swear to god, I can weather all of this, but if I lose my sister, I'm done. The more accurate descriptions I've heard compare it to WW2 and the great depression. I don't see how it won't be worse than the great depression.
