DK is just more DK and it's not even that far off. 43% voted for it. That's getting really close to 50% (half), and DK's always been more niche in Nintendo's lineup compared to Mario (which is understandably steamrolling MK). Compare that to the biggest injustice of Shovel Knight 65% vs Dragon's Dogma 35%, where SK, sure a great nostalgic game, leads by such a huge margin compared to Dragon's Dogma, which on the other hand was honestly pretty groundbreaking considering how very few games have ever had a combat and gameplay system like that in an open world environment. And we're not even taking into account how many hours you can just throw into DD and not even make a dent in everything it has to offer (progressing through the story is a different thing compared to the overall gaming experience), whereas by that time you've probably finished SK multiple dozens of times.
