While he is by no means a "traditional" expert on matters of deadly diseases, Muhammad nonetheless had sound advice to prevent and combat a development like COVID-19.

Muhammad said: "If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague outbreaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place."

He also said: "Those with contagious diseases should be kept away from those who are healthy."

Muhammad also strongly encouraged human beings to adhere to hygienic practices that would keep people safe from infection.

Perhaps most importantly, he knew when to balance faith with reason. In recent weeks, some have gone so far as to suggest that prayer would be better at keeping you from the coronavirus than adhering to basic rules of social distancing and quarantine. How would Prophet Muhammad respond to the idea of prayer as the chiefor onlyform of medicine?

Consider the following story, related to us by ninth-century Persian scholar Al-Tirmidhi: One day, Prophet Muhammad noticed a Bedouin man leaving his camel without tying it. He asked the Bedouin, "Why don't you tie down your camel?" The Bedouin answered, "I put my trust in God." The Prophet then said, "Tie your camel first, then put your trust in God."

Muhammad encouraged people to seek guidance in their religion, but he hoped they take basic precautionary measures for the stability, safety and well-being of all.

In other words, he hoped people would use their common sense.

I can also point you to countless examples of Pastors cancelling services and delivering their messages online.

I'm not going to disparage Muhammad's words because obviously he was right and Islam has made incredible contributions to the world, but to use this as an attack on Christianity is absurd.

Well I don't really give a shit about them when I have two examples that will probably play a notable role in my state adopting Virginia's June 10th stay at home policy. Local news including our Fox affiliate have yet to report on a bunch of Muslims fucking it up

I don't know how old you were when 9/11 happened, but whenever somebody pointed out Muslims who condemned the attacks and worked to provide aid to those affected I hope you would've applied the same logic and said, "Well I don't give a shit about them." Consistency matters.

Wasnt it Iran that had people licking holy places to protect them from COVID-19?

Yeah, I know what you mean. Its like when my high school friend told me that he liked Spider Man more than Superman because Marvel was better at making relatable characters that would inspire you. Personally, I liked the Punisher. He didnt have any cool powers, but he also didnt fuck around with villains and wasnt interested in teaching moral lessons. He was more about using your common sense.

So because I pointed out that a guy known for fleecing his flock, who tried to work hocus pocus through the TV probably isn't a Christian (2 Peter 2:1-3), you think a couple of local churches who are definitely being stupid and putting lives in danger is a comparable example?
