The super guy is their skinny/slim cut. I prefer skinny as well but Ive been trying slim cut recently, feeling like Im aging out if the ultra sleek cuts.

I have a pair of Docs (the old For Life line, at that) already that I have worn into the ground, and are still going strong. Im gonna pick up a studded bootstrap for them soon, but Ive also been looking at Solovairs to have a pair to keep nice/a pair made out of better material. The docs have saved me from more than a few broken glass/sharp object injuries lol.

Engineer boots are a bit tougher to find, though; I have smaller feet, and the good boot makers already dont usually have my size, much less in such a traditionally big guy boot.

I have a pair of third hand Doc Martens which a former flame gave me that were too big for her, which she had been given by one of her former flames. They are oxblood, and so old that the finish looks as if it is rub off, but it is simply age. The soles are extremely worn as well, but they are still extremely comfortable. They would be at least 20 years old.

They were the best thing to come from that relationship.

I have a pair of Solovairs I bought a few years ago, they are developing ever so slight cracking near the toe, but that is because I have been lax in caring for them. Best boots I have ever worn, they are now my go-to work wear.

Unfortunately, modern Docs seem to be less hard wearing than either of those pairs. I had a pair of 1461s give up the ghost after 2 months of wear.

I havent conditioned mine once in 2+ years of near daily wear. Lookin rough, and the leather is definitely very worn, but structurally theyre still goin. Soles are basically totally smooth around the edges, with chunks taken out here and there on the rim from various things. Bout a year ago I stopped lacing them up to wear and have just been throwing them on, but Im thinkin Ill start wearing them right again.

Im looking at oxblood solovairs, but I also wanna shave my head soon so Im hesitant lol
