Fetch quests god breath of fire 2 is bad when i was playing it a few weeks ago and i quit due to the annoy amount of it ugh
and let's not even get started with the notorious water levels in any game heck was their ever a game that did it right

Achievements and especially system notifications doing popupa and shit.
Sony can fuck right off with their popup during cutscenes that says "recording is restricted" or whatever. Thats probably actually illegal, not to mention how immersion breaking it is
Xbox does it too, it just doesn't tell you it's doing it.

It used to be that videogames were too difficult and often times unfair. I feel like now the inverse is true.

Most games are far too easy and tone down the intensity to cater to less experienced players. This of course bottlenecks difficulty for more seasoned players.

I generally dislike any sort of extended handholding in games. Signposting is one thing but some games do everything short of beating the damn game for you.

When the final boss is disproportionately difficult. Sure, the final boss should be the hardest part, and it's even ok to be off the difficulty curve a bit. But if I died twice in the rest of the game, I shouldn't be dying fifty times against the FB.

Romancing Saga 3... couldnt beat the final boss. Still annoyed by that.

At least in kingdom hearts it's just extra stun time when herc hits the boss, so you can still win without him. But then you have those ones where you have to get to like, a turret and hit a flying enemy to bring them to the ground for a bit to pummel them but they are hard to aim since they fire so slowly. Or have them caught in an exploding barrel radius that you throw and it has a timer to blow up after you throw it.
Ironic you mention Hercules because you have to do just that when you fight him
