I didnt like the original so I definitely wont be getting the remake. I heard that (probably after seeing complaints online) they made it so you can switch to a turn-based system, but it isnt the exact same as the system in the original game.

I'm waiting for the full thing, and will probably make sure I have a good external hard drive for my system so I can play it all. Doing the haphazard-quick-math with the demo, each volume will be fifteen hours, give or take for extra grinds or poor rng in places, potentially.

Always found FF7 to be just an ok, extremely overrated game, and it's not even in my top 3 for the FF series itself (Tactics, 6, 4, and 9 are all better, at a minimum). And I've never been a big FF series fan, either.
Why would I pay for the game in three installments?

Some DRM program that's apparently pretty bad...if they don't come with it, then cool.

I was never that big on ff7 (to me it was just a mediocre game, especially considering the one that came out just before it) and I'm also not a fan of its new combat system compared to traditional ATB, so taking all that into consideration along with the fact the remake is gonna be a split game... very unlikely.

I can at the very least understand why some people would really get behind its new combat system though, which is still a step above some other recent popular games where I really cannot understand their general appeal at all. Not going to name any examples here because it would just invite off-topic controversy.

If there's ever a 90%-off sale on a Steam release, then a maybe.

So, very unlikely.

I bought 10 butterfingers so I could get all the silly promotional DLC

I wont eat that many though so I made up a story about how butterfinger sales are down during the pandemic and theyre partnering with other companies to have butterfingers hidden in all sorts of other foods and household products and Ive been hiding them in random things for my wife and sister to find

they already came across one in a case of dr pepper and one in a carton of ice cream, but havent discovered the one in the half eaten can of pringles or the thing of mixed nuts

After what SE passed of as remakes in Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, etc, sure I can imagine, but no.
ToM is another big remake for SE, for perhaps their SNES Magnum Opus. Maybe if I call it by the name it was known for for twenty years, you might recognize it: Seiken Densetsu 3, tentatively called Secret of Mana 2, before it was decided not to bring it over.

And also, yeah, SE main released do have Denuvo and they have caught a lot of flak over it.

Only recently realized it was coming out so close to FF7R, which might not be SE's best idea ever.

They changed it enough so that I now have zero nostalgia left for it, while not changing it enough to win me back over again by being a worthwhile modern game, so it falls right in the middle of me not giving a fuck. And that's before they decided to make the whole thing episodic and turned me even more off on the idea of it.

If I ever feel the need to play FFVII again, I'll just dig out my old Playstation and play it on that.
