Says he was too arrogant about coronavirus and now he is just trying to pass the buck and deny culpability.

Its funny because my dad always praised Trump because of the economy and because he started making more money at work, now his job site is infected with coronavirus and people all over the city are losing work and he turned on Trump so fast.
Trump has always been arrogant and full of himself and people who have watched him over the years know that. Before "The Apprentice" came along, Trump was so broke he resorted to doing fast food commercials for income. He was never the great real estate mogul he proclaimed to be and people in NY whose families were influential in NY real estate development often laughed at Trump's ridiculous claims.

Oh, and for an added kicker, his economic mismanagement is now biting him in the ass hard. Climbing out of the economic doldrums that the country is going to be mired in when the virus finally does subside is going to be extremely difficult, because Trump already turned the stimulus taps on full blast despite having inherited a roaring economy from the Obama administration. His tax cut has kneecapped federal earning power and the multi-trillion economic bailout is going to be tacked onto a deficit that was already on track to clear a trillion dollars a year this year. And given that taxpayer earnings are going to be shit this year - and, again, Trump has made this as painful as possible - the finances are going to take ANOTHER hit from tax revenue bottoming out, essentially bearing significant downward pressure from three different sources, all of which Trump had a hand in. And he can't even turn to most of the tried-and-true methods of stimulating growth, like lowering interest rates, because he was already doing that before this all hit.

Your entire post was great and honestly should be saved before PotD inevitably erases this topic once it's gone stale. But especially thank you for saying this!
I'm SO SICK of Democrats letting Trump simply claim he has a "great economy" and never challenging it. All along, well before the virus, our surging stock market has been built on a fucking house of cards. He and the Fed (which always goes where he barks, so it's effectively just an extension of Trump now) lowered interest rates to near zero, plowed insane amounts into rescuing the overnight lending rate, and blew up the budget w/ the tax cut for the rich.
ALL OF THIS was before the virus even existed! He had no tools left to deal w/ an actual recession, b/c he expended them all to prop up the stock market to unrealistic heights.
And now we're going to see deficits that utterly annihilate anything we saw during the worst of the Great Recession. Not because this is many times worse. Because Trump set us up for it.

Every fucking time during the Dem debates that Dems agreed the economy was good, I wanted to scream. No it's fucking not! The "great economy" has been a lie for Trump's entire term, and honestly to a lesser extent during Obama's 2nd term as well. We never fixed the underlying issues w/ the economy, we just blew new bubbles.

You forgot your "I don't like Trump" disclaimer on this one.
I figured saying he has been below average to terrible on everything else he's done conveyed that message

Yes, that is what people are saying. It's what people are telling me is their motivation. I'm deep in Trump country, they called my state for him before the polls even closed.

No matter what, it was going to be a shitshow. Blaming it on Trump is just silly, especially considering that it's liberal areas -- places that don't like, trust, or listen to Trump -- that have been hit the hardest.
False.

The South and most Red states are getting hit much harder proportionally, mainly because their idiot leaders followed Trump's lead and refused (and still are) to act accordingly. WA is only bad because it was ground zero in the US, and NYC/NJ is only suffering because it is the mostly densely packed place in America. CA is actually doing pretty damn well. That's a far cry from states that are reeling due to political incompetence.
