It's not nearly as well regarded as the first game, which would have a hard enough time on its own winning this match.

The first two Arkham games are really strong.

XC2 will be okay but XC1 is much stronger, looks set to win its division, and I still dont think that beats Arkham City. Arkham City will win easily. Normally I would say the games may have weakened as the franchise is not what it was, but City is still incredibly well regarded and gave rise to Spider-Man. Itll still be strong, and it earned that 3 seed.

Also this discussion made me realise that its weird that no Arkham games are on Switch yet, especially considering that City and Origins are on Wii U!

I don't envy FighterZ's chances against original Mortal Kombat either. Whatever its issues, it's still an iconic 90's game that introduced the franchise and characters when the genre was at the height of its relevance.

I'd be concerned about Dissidia, even. Gonna have a much higher playrate here and while the FF brand means much less than it used to, it's still gotta mean more than Dragon Ball's on gamefaqs.

The Halo subreddit pinned a rally thread for the Master Chief vs Link match over the IGN Faceoffs, which seemed to have made a big difference (Link was ahead considerably last night and now Chief seems to be ahead) and they plan on rallying him against Mario in the finals as well.

Might be worth keeping in mind in case they decide to rally Halo: Reach against Breath of the Wild next round.

It looked like Link had about 66.66% or so before the rally. BotW is likely to get, what, 75-80%, on Reach?

Our vote totals are pretty low...so yeah, it could very well swing the result, which would kind of suck. On the other hand, that's characters and this is games. I could understand a Halo fan picking MC over Link. I'm not a Halo guy but is Reach really that well regarded, especially against a game like BotW?

Interesting, though BotW specifically has a massive subreddit (over 100k more subscribers than the Halo one) that can counter-rally easily. So we know what to do!

I doubt they will though, Reach is not Chief.

On the flipside, what woud be some sports games that can beat Rocket League and with decent content strength? I don't think classics like NBA Jam, Tecmo Super Bowl or International Superstar Soccer would get that much traction.

Halo: Reach has its haters but its still regarded as a great Halo game, usually being top 2-3 in Halo polls so it's not like they'll be rallying for Halo 4/5. And I think BotW might actually be easy to rally against if this turns into some kind of console war thing. I'm sure it's a lot easier to rally Halo fans against BotW than something like Witcher 3 or another good Xbox game.

Anything with Mario in the title, Punch-Out, and Tecmo Bowl immediately jump to mind.

I'd also take Wii Sports over Rocket League.

In a perfect world NHL Hiltz and NFL 2K5 would win too.

Tecmo Super Bowl has been in a contest before, and the result wasn't good for it.

Zelda should crush Halo badly enough to render rallies irrelevant.

The x-stats for the 1972-1988 division are more or less non-existent. There's too much SFF going on there.

Too bad the 2015 contest only had a single game made before 1990 and it was fed to Pokemon.

Not only that, but Punch Out is one of those games that's actually become more relevant over time, with it being a huge draw at events and streams with people beating the game blindfolded and other crazy challenges.

Put it in a poll that doesn't have Tetris in it, and it might surprise people.

I am so happy that Rocket League won a match here.

It had so much going against it (Sports, Multiplayer, no real mascot, etc) that gamefaqs typically frowns upon and still outperformed Goku and Co.

It's more accurately a puzzle game.

There are multiple states showing 0 votes, not just Alabama in the Yakuza match. I see Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, and Alaska.

It's not just those states, but I see South Dakota, Delaware, and Connecticut as other states that have recorded 0 votes in recent polls. Also, this problem is affecting the regular PotDs running during the contest, and is not limited to the contest polls.
