No, he's thinking of Greta

Greta's new way of desperately trying to stay relevant was claiming she had Covid19 and then backing down after she didn't get tested and saying she "extremely likely" had it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malizia_II

Malizia II is an IMOCA 60 monohull sailing yacht, designed by VPLP and Guillaume Verdier and constructed by Multiplast in France.[1][2]
The boat served as a transport vessel for Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, who sailed across the North Atlantic Ocean from Plymouth to New York City in August 2019 without causing carbon dioxide emissions during the voyage. The trip was led by Boris Herrmann. Thunberg's crossing of the Atlantic started on 14 August 2019, and concluded on 28 August.[3]

You are correct, greenhouse gases remain in the atmosphere for decades, and we are already locked in for a certain amount of warming. But rapid change is still imperative because the problem is not a binary one where it either happens or doesn't. It is, in more ways than one, a matter of degrees.

It is a 60 foot boat and I can't find a picture of her actual living quarters to save my life. If you have pictures of her living quarters feel free to share if it is only a 5 minute google search.

A 60 racing yacht has some space underneath. Of course they couldn't make the top deck look like a party boat lol. She also profited greatly from this and got a free pass from going to school.

I mean I don't really care about Greta, but if you're gonna make a claim that she was basically living in a horse trailer than please give me a link or a picture please.

Her trolling Trump on twitter, while amusing, is not terribly relevant.

The fact remains is that she called out several issues with piss poor efforts to combat climate change and the response from certain types was to bully and mock her. Expected from the right to mock anything science related at this point, but that they went after someone still a child at that point with such glee and gusto 100% shows they are garbage trash.

I don't think she's responsible in any way for the actions they were going to take regardless. There's zero reason to take people at their word if they suggest they're only against the environmental movement because of Greta; if it wasn't her it'd be Al Gore or Leonardo Dicaprio.

Let me ask you this: Has Greta actually informed any of you or made things clear? Did she change ANYONE'S mind, or were you already in belief of Global Warming. I sure as hell knew everything and people I know that are in disbelief just thought she was some disrespectful brat and continued to shit on the left. Give me one case thst's not confirmation bias or someone going you go gurl. One. I ask, just one single case.

However I have seen people compare How Dare You to I Have A Dream but they couldn't be any more different. One is a message of hate, spite and angst, one is a message of love, hope and peace. One is basically a radical declaration of war.

Because with people like Trump in power it was doing fucking wonders, right?

Give me a break and actually see what the reality of change was. America was rapidly dialing back on efforts, while other countries were making token efforts and false promises. I'm not sure much will realistically change, as money wins out for the older people in power who don't have to care about the consequences the rest of us suffer, but it has helped shine a brighter light on it and force the laziness into the spotlight.

Helping young people see that they CAN stand up and don't need to give into the apathy the older generations want us to. They want us to feel helpless and not push for change, to not demand our politicians take action, or not vote for those supporting our cause (the level of voting in younger people is still sadly piss poor, and not sure what will change that other than more active engagement from an early age. But that's not in the interests of those in power, so eh!)

And bitching that a child wasn't coming forth with scientific evidence.

Seriously?

You are seriously upset, and your issue with her, is that she was telling people that they were fucking morons for ignoring scientists and that they should be, rather than being consumed by greed and adoration for corporations? We've had scientists spreading this for DECADES and it's done bugger all. Activism cannot be done "quietly and without disturbing others" as by its very nature it intends to disrupt those in power and shake things up.

If you're upset by her saying "how dare you" then do you actually care about climate change, do you actually want to hold those responsible for perpetuating it and driving us off the cliff while saying to not look outside at the impending ground we're about to hit?

People get so damn worked up about an insignificant thing she said, acting as if she ruined the movement. No, she did not. They were already ignoring it and were going to do so anyway. Don't let their propaganda twist you as well, or you're just helping them.

Remember that any time people attack Greta Thunberg's character or lifestyle or presentation, or that she is on the autism spectrum, they are gaslighting; concern trolling in order to distract from the fact that a teenage girl's lifestyle is the only current argument they have against the scientific reality that is climate change. It is desperation.

Though I suppose some of them actually *are* cowards, and really do believe this "she has damaged the global warming movement! Now the rich elites who caused this problem will never help us!" spiel, but can you imagine being like that? I sure can't.

I'm worked up over people making her out to be some modern insightful messiah because she read a script given to her with plans on making her a marketable image for the "youth movement".

Holding those responsible is fine but also in an intelligent and diplomatic way. This is not how you go about things, just like the Dems sabotaging the election for Biden to win. Sit back and look at the bigger picture of things broski.
