Mead 04/10/20 3:53:57 PM #1:	Playing on normal mode. The combat feels pretty good. Seems like theyre going a little overboard with Sephiroth foreshadowing. The original really just let you know that something weird was going on with Cloud, now the villain is constantly thrown in your face right from the start pretty much I like that you can hear most npc conversations just by walking by them without having to select them when I was fighting the shinra soldiers on the bridge one of them announced You are in trouble! which was fucking hilarious --- Lemonheads <cite>Mead posted [p:937144926] in My thought... He turned it off last night when he was told to leave it in sleep mode. So I set it up to download again this morning before work, got home to see that it hadn't downloaded any. He had turned it off again, but mom made him start it up again before I got home, so instead he set it download like a dozen other updates first. The reactor explosion has a lot more gravity to it when you get to see the aftermath of what happened to the people in real time. Im not sure how I feel about how (spoilers for parts that are not in the original FF7) ~~Shinra decides to add to the explosion to make it bigger in an attempt to make Avalanche look worse~~, but at least it is in line with their characters. Biggs, Wedge, & Jesse feel a lot more personable in this version. I love how much of a flirt Jesse is. She in particular has a lot of personality so far. Overall, this game is a lot of fun so far. Got interrupted by real life yesterday and have not played since then. Enjoying the game, but I am of two minds about the new content. On the one hand, there is a whole chapter ~~devoted to Jessie and her family, and I thought that was excellent~~. On the other hand, everything involving Sephiroth and ~~the "ghosts" makes it clear that this is not a remake, but a 2009~~ ~~Star Trek~~~~-style alternate universe~~. And Roche is a dumbass. Dynalo 04/12/20 3:37:10 PM #35:	I'm about 25 hours in, nearing the end-ish. Just doing a bunch of side quests. I've been really enjoying it. My biggest complaint is that the AI is effing awful. Characters are completely useless if you aren't controlling them. Given just how bad they are, I'm thinking they used to be better, but got toned down in favour of making battles a bit more difficult without making them damage sponges. Always seemed odd to me that despite being their elite fighting force with multiple, you only ever really encounter nameless mooks in the original... And even that was not exactly common.
