I bought all 7 separately, so I guess I feel kinda dunce-ish about paying retail price 7 separate times, but I am so glad JK Rowling released this into 7 parts rather than one big story. You guys know what I mean?

Thank God it is split - it would be like 7000 pages if together. I heard she is now worth $700 million...she made a ton of money off those 7 releases.

Honestly, SE has just shown us how generous and kind they are by turning FF7R into a multiyear experience. Think about it, if the full remake came out yesterday, the whole load would be blown and we would move on soon enough. But now it has the chance of being a decade long experience by the grace of SE. It just goes to show how good and kind companies can be tbh.

She wrote each story one at a time. At most she had an overarching outline of what she wanted Harry to achieve in his time in Hogwarts before she wrote each year. This is a really poor comparison to a remake where the plot, the lore, and the world were already developed and released to the public.

Wouldn't a better example be turning one Hobbit book into three movies, or the last Harry Potter book into two? You know, since we're talking about adapting something that already exists.

Ah, another example of a company being generous and kind. Instead of putting out one or two movies, they expanded it to three by adding completely new plotlines and enriching the story.

They should rewrite Harry Potter so that every book is about two months of the school year. Just imagine how much excellent new content and story/character depth they could add over the series.

Ff7 is literally one story. It's already been told lol. Calling the first 5% of the game a "remake" and asking full price is laughable.

Not even, because each Hobbit movie is 2+ hours, while FF7Remake is 1/3 the length of a typical JRPG.
