If you start with a newer one it's hard to go to old ones because of how dated they are. Better off starting with an older series. Black is when the series first became good and you can actually ignore the series before it.

True, but she can still start with an earlier Heisei show. Like pre-2010. It doesn't have to be as old as Black, although Black is a good one to start with.

Also not everyone lets the fact a show looks dated bother them.

Black is over 70% filler. I mean every Showa Rider is wall to wall filler but people recommend Black for the 30% (maybe 20%) that isn't. It's great if you know what you're in for but yeah.

Pretty Den-O isn't a Pretty Cure crossover. Den-O is still a good series to start with though.

With the exception of "I'm Born!" which takes place between episode 27 and 28, all Den-O specials and movies take place after the series. "Final Countdown" is also kind of sort of a second finale to the series.

Cal, I advise that you watch Den-O. It's really good. Main cast are all nice, especially Momotaros who's my favourite. Lots of comedy too. I'm sure you'll love it.

Also I think Pretty Den-O takes place after the TV show. In fact it's probably the latest Den-O story chronologically.

Unfortunately, my backlog of anime is huge these days, and series that have English dubs are on higher priority right now because the majority of my free anime-watching time is spent multi-tasking with something else. So trying to fit in a long Kamen Rider series with no dub isn't really feasible right now. But someday I will, I promise!

I've been working a small side job from home while my actual job search is on hold due to the coronavirus, and I usually put anime on the TV while I work. It takes enough attention away that I can't constantly focus on reading subtitles, but not so much that I can't still follow English audio and understand what's going on. The only things I'm still watching subbed are currently airing series that I'm only watching one episode a week of.

But like I said, I'll definitely try to get a Kamen Rider series in at some point.

It sounds like the plan is to upload the raws one at a time and then fans will submit subtitles to play when people go to the videos.

The subtitles have to be approved by the channel owner, but there's no info on the quality checking or how subtitlers will be credited, if they're credited. Still, it's better than nothing at all, plus fansubs can get the highest quality raws this way.

As someone who is a fan of both anime and pro wrestling, I definitely have an appreciation for villains/heels that are really good at getting fans to hate them even when the fans want to like them.

I don't hate Gai because he's evil, I hate him because his motives are all over the place and he's only perceived as a genius because everyone else is a dumbass (he seriously buys Hiden without realizing Hiden doesn't own the patent to Humagears, which was the whole the crux of his plan). He also doesn't grow or change, and when the characters remember "oh yeah I'm stronger than this guy" he comes back the very next episode as smug as before.

Masamune Dan was a flat villain who comes in at the 11th hour to shake things up. But what he did have going for him was that when he started losing fights, he started becoming unhinged because his whole plan relied on him being the strongest. Gai doesn't even have that. He's pretty much back to the same place he was when he was introduced and his personality hasn't changed a bit.

He's like a worse Masamune combined with a bad Evolt.

I read that Kyuranger was developed with direct input from Bandais western branches to try and make something that would specifically be popular in the West (in terms of suit design, toys, etc) Though I confess I dont have a source on hand for that. >_>

I actually really liked the competetion arc tbh. But then, I really like character-focused episodic stories, and I really liked all the "humagears of the week". The drama was definitely at its lowest point, though, and things are really heating up. For that I'm glad.

I think if you don't mind eventually going back to the old stuff, then just start with Kamen Rider W and follow sequentially. W/Double is just a fun ride and most of the series between it and 01 have been the same.
