Basically, the government is restricting research publications on the origin of Covid-19. Guess they want to keep it under wraps that it was practically all their fault.

All of these outbreaks originated in China, but why? Why is China such a hotspot for novel diseases?

china was irresponsible in not taking it more seriously more quickly and warning others, but it's not like they spread it on purpose

similar to trumps reaction. both are to blame partially (and china I would blame more for letting it leave their borders in the first place). but I don't think any of this is intentional in anyone's case

Everyone knows the virus came from China and everyone knows they handled it poorly out of the gate and tried to cover it up, so who really cares what they do now? I mean if anything it feeds into the conspiracy theory that it came from a lab, so they aren't doing a good job of controlling the narrative by doing this. I'm not saying it was, but you know it's something that will fuel that talk. Let them be fishy, I rather worry about how we handle it from here on out over what they do since what they say will change no ones idea of where this started.

They intentionally suppressed information and threatened doctors that were trying to warn about it for months at the start. And then they said bulshit to the World Health Organization like that there was no evidence that it was human transmittable. It would be one thing they were just negligent, but they were active in their attempts to crush any spread of information that could have helped reduce the outbreak. Imagine how different this would look globally if they were honest and upfront in November when the first cases started to happen.

TC this topic came up yesterday, with the same story even, and i'll point out the obvious truth (and likely get ignored again...).

CHINA DOESN'T GIVE A FUCK WHAT OTHER COUNTRIES BELIEVE!

seriously, they dont care. they know that no country would believe the bullshit conspiracy that they released the virus on themselves, so they know there wont be a WW3 over this. beyond that, they dont give a fuck if other countries call it the china flu, they dont give a fuck if other countries hear them blame the US for causing the virus, they just. dont. care.

what they do care about, is how chinese people within china see the chinese government. they care, because they've got a bloody history of revolts and governments being brought down because of them, and the communist party realizes that its a real possibility now. so they lock down on research that might show how badly the communist government handled the outbreak, and they spread rumors within their country that the virus was actually caused by the US.
