I've only seen the movie and heard the soundtrack of the original cast (which I wasn't fond of to be honest :( ) so I'm excited to be able to watch this. Ramin's voice sounds like it's divine.

Speaking in terms of the Phantom and Christine, I agree and disagree. Movie Christine I like way more--Sarah Brightman's voice vaguely reminded me of Kermit the frog's. For the Phantom, Crawford 100% has a better voice than Butler, but he felt really emotionally flat to me. Butler I prefer simply for that reason, even though his singing is worse.

This is from the original cast recording, at least. It's likely it's a different experience for other performances of his.

I've read and seen many interpretations of the story and I've heard the soundtrack a thousand times but I've never seen the play. Kind of excited to see this, thanks OP.

To be honest though I think the 25th anniversary one is overall the best

Saw this in 2016 and again in 2018.

Didn't like the 2018 show. Maybe it was where I was sitting in the theater but the singing just sounded completely off. Like I couldn't understand a damn word anyone said during the songs. Everything else was great though.
