Whose side are you on?

Justin Trudeau said it will be a "significant amount of time" before US-Canada re-open their borders to non-essental travel as Trump says that travel with Canada will be his FIRST order to re-open!!

The Canadian Prime Minister shot down those comments and says the border restrictions with the US will remain in place for awhile as the 2 nations are fighting to bring the virus under control as Canada is doing BETTER in controlling than down south as they are steadily flattening the curve

They made an agreement in March to limit crossings of essential travel until April 19 but Trudeau says they will continue to extend the restrictions until the pandemic improves

He said "There's a recognition that as we move forward there will be special thought given to this relationship. But at the same time we know that there is a significant amount of time, still, before we can talk about loosening such restrictions. I don't think we can talk about reopening things until we are confident that we have exactly the plan on responding to future resurgencies of the virus. The work we continue to do to keep our citizens safe while coordinating very carefully is unlike our approaches with other countries around the world. The reality is we are still weeks away from being able to talk about softening measures at the borders or others"

Those comments may cause embarrassment forTrump who said that the 2 countries are "doing well" admit the pandemic where he said "Our relationship with Canada is vey good, we'll talk about that. It will be one of the early borders to be released. Canada's doing well, we're doing well so we'll see"

This comes after Trump threatened 3M to STOP sending their masks across the border as Canada shot back and said the halt will make relations worse as they also produce the PULP that is sent south to make those masks.

Trump is pressured from his supporters and Republican allies to re-open the country as soon as possible to avoid further economic damage as airlines are struggling everyday with limited travel and re-opening with Canada could give it a slight boost for foreign travel.

I love that Trump suggested this because this will go down as a case of Trudeau telling Trump to go fuck himself.

Entry to Canada is up to Canadians, and that's not going to change because a foreign cheeto says so.

I think Trudeau is the biggest joke of a PM ever but I have to agree that borders still need to be closed. This doesn't make Trudeau smart by any means.. it's just common sense really. The USA has way to many cases to just let Americans in.. oh wait.. Trudeau did let in a ton of illegals from the USA.. hmm.. and 10+ of them where they keep them have the CCP virus.. and 12 workers there also got it.. hmm..

Both are stupid leaders.

Considering international travel generally requires both nations to agree, this one might go in Trudeau's favor... unless the Trump administration prints pamphlets teaching Americans how to bypass the Canadian border and then have Americans who cross over ask for refugee status, at which point those Americans will be set up in very nice homes at the Canadian taxpayer's expense.
