I live in Georgia, have never had to pay sales tax, and didn't know for the longest time that some people did.

No, I don't think you should pay it

I wouldn't mind the tax if companies offered online discounts. Yeah sure some companies do but when you think about t a store setup pays a regional, district and store manager plus the employee pay. Thats not including logistics personnel at the supply ware houses. Or the theft that occurs at the store level (amazon says the ware house isnt any better though). Oh amd the taxes and utility cost to maintain as store plus said warehouse.

You would think that being the case ordering on line would have only half the mark up versus the store. If that were the case yeah I wouldnt mind not only the state but the local tax

If you have to pay sales tax in a store, you should have to pay sales tax online. Otherwise there is yet another inherent benefit in shopping online, further harming local businesses.

I understand what sales tax is so I dont understand why you wouldnt have to pay it regardless of how the transaction is taking place.

I find it strange that the government would vote against themselves making more money for nothing.

Get taxed on everything in my country.

I do buy PSN and eShop games with a US account though, I have that set to a state without taxes on the store. If I'm getting a $10 game, I want to get a $10 card to buy it, not a $20 card. Taxes wouldn't be so bad if they could be charged on the gift card instead (get $10 gift card, pay $10 + tax for it, get $10 game), but they don't work that way.
