If I had to guess, and this is a guess, it's to slow progress buying stuff with in game currency so people get fed up and buy paid currency to get stuff.

Ah. Suppose that's way way to look at it. I know they use VC in WWE 2K games but they have never used it to play the actual game. Unlocking stuff is a grind.

I looked it up.

Basically looks like people can buy the same currency as in game.

So... Yeah....

And I've heard things about WWE 2k games. Never played them, but my son loves them. Really sad about WWE 2k20 tbh.

The action points are for the MyGM mode where you can only do so many things as a GM per day. The career mode doesn't cost anything to play and is a lot like WWE's and uses VC and not the action points.

Fair enough.

I'll admit I'm very suspicious, especially when it comes to buying in game currency and/or there's grinding with the potential to buy things.

Didn't they have games of chance in this game at some point? Do they still have them? That wouldn't help my suspicion of their intentions tbh.

Thanks for that. Makes me think IF we ever get GM Mode back in WWE games it'll probably work the same way. Still this isn't a surprise.

The games of chance would be in the MyTeam mode where you would buy packs of player cards with either MyTeam points that you earn from playing games in this mode, or VC, and assemble a team from them. But, yeah the game is absolutely grindy.

Thanks for all the clarification. I know just enough about the NBA 2k games but at the same time not quite enough, if that makes sense.
