In 2018, I decided to finally get my life back in order and started losing weight. Started off at 338 pounds, and since then I'd managed to work all the way down to 180, which was my long-term goal I set for myself when I started. Was super proud of myself.

And then, almost immediately, the lockdown hit

Up until that point, I'd basically been dealing with my food addiction by limiting the amount of food I had at home at any given time; can't snack/cheat if there's nothing there, right? So I'd basically be at the store nearly every day/every other day, buying exactly what I needed for that day, nothing else. For obvious reasons, I can't do that anymore; or at the very least, public health safety dictates I shouldn't. And having the stockpiles of supplies has been rough - temptation is there and I find it hard to fight it. Best thing I can liken it to is forcing a recovering alcoholic to keep a stocked liquor cabinet. I've slipped up more than a few times and eaten way more than I should, and it's bad. Scale's beginning to creep up again. Nothing huge, but enough to worry me about needing to nip the problem in the bud. Couple this with the gyms all closing down, and the challenges of rebalancing my diet to switch from eating at a deficit (which I'd been doing for nearly 2 years) to maintenance, and it created a perfect storm of circumstances that's made maintaining my progress very difficult.

Guess there are far worse problems to have; I know its a matter of willpower that I'd eventually have to square off with either way (hitting the store 5 times a week was hardly sustainable or convenient) - was just hoping for a little breathing room to establish the patterns of a maintenance lifestyle for a bit longer, before the whole game was forcibly changed.

Try keeping a log of what you eat so you know what times you're more likely to slip, maybe try setting timers on your phone? It sucks not having much to do but don't let this mess with your progress!

yeah, I've been doing that since I started, as well - its at least keeping me conscious of the problem, though it's not deterring as much as I'd hoped
