Is it possible for anyone, including the holder of an auction to see what the highest bid limit is? Or is that limited to whoever makes it? Example: If theres an item selling for $40 and you bid $100, it only increases the bid by $1 but will auto-bid for you up to $100. Can anyone other than you see what youve set your auto-bid limit to?

Alright. Its weird how often someone bids the exact same amount as me within two minutes of my max bid then.

Yeah it just happens often enough that I had to ask.

I also feel like people who spend a lot of time on there get a feel for what a max bid might be and intentionally drive up the bids a couple dollars at a time. Not saying it happens all the time but if I had a lot of expendable cash Im not saying I wouldnt do it.

I just bid what I intend to pay, if someone beats me then I don't want it anymore.

I make my highest bid with like 3-5 seconds left in the listing. That helps curb any possible bid wars from going on.

Always put random cents at the end of your max bid. A lot of people will only bid while dollars and those few cents can win you an auction.

I thought this adds time to the bid though to give the last highest bidder a chance to place a new one.

No time is added. It's a rookie move to bid on an auction any time before the end.

Now sure, there may be times where I'd bid $10 as my max and it's currently at $4 and then someone else had $10.50. I wouldn't have time to up it to $11. Who's to say their bid wasn't $20, but there's no way to know. As long as you know you're true max bid, then it'll work out most times.

Even then, the times I've "eSniped" my way into something by holding my bid to the last second are countless.
