Just one. It started as a secured credit card to build credit, but transitioned to unsecure after 6 months. I barely use it, but I just slap a spotify sub on it so I pay that off every month.

Household income is about $72k

9 cards and 1 line of credit

Total credit limit is $97,250

Only using two of those cards at the moment: American Express Blue Cash Everyday for groceries because it gets 3% cashback at supermarkets and American Express Everyday for everything else because it's 0% interest and gets rewards points. Pay both off in full each month.

Credit score in the 780s last I checked. Was 800+ before the mortgage :(

Edit: forgot I use a third card: Amazon Prime Rewards Visa for all Amazon purchases because I get 5% cashback

If you have a decent credit history (as in a score above 700-720ish) and can limit yourself to one, they're not the worst idea if you get a 0% interest card or one that gets you decent cash back(2+% back)

It's when you start using them to buy things you don't need that you run into issues.

But if you can't trust yourself...

Two, I'm trying to build my credit though so I will probably apply for another when my score goes up next month or the month after. It seems counter-intuitive but I suffer from lack of available credit according to most credit score tools, but not from usage. Because of my somewhat lackluster score the cards I've been able to get on board with have a somewhat low credit line so far but none are secured, so it's not that bad.

Fuck. Voted dont have a debit card by mistake.

1- Capital One Quicksilver (first card. Utter garbage but keeps my account age nice)
2- Capital One Buypower (5% towards new vehicle for my future child Im accumulating)
3- Citi Double Cash (2% back first half of month)
4- Synchrony Mastercard (2% back second half of month)
5- Discover It (5% back rotation)
6- Chase Freedom (5% back rotation to cover what Discover It doesnt)
7- Wells Fargo Propel (3% back on food, dining, hotels, rentals, parking, and travel)
8- Synchrony Meineke brand (Mechanic shop card I got on accident when I was ignorant. They give credit line like candy and 0% interest for 3 months on services more than $300, so turned out ok)
9- Macys credit card (Where I shop for my clothes and shoes. Great discounts)
10- Pnc credit card (4% cash back on gas stations)
11-Uber visa card (used to be 4% back on dining. As of March, its now useless to me. Credit line fodder now)

Only my first card has an annual fee. Imagine that.

I got a debit credit through my credit union, Ally bank (interest checking acc), and Discover (cashback on debit card swipes. Hello student loan payments!). So 3 debit cards if we wanna know.

No such thing as too much free money. I love credit.

I make $16.50 hourly, averaged about $63k over 2017-2019 but this year is going to be shit.

Three credit cards, limit of a bit under $20k total, $1500ish debt running at 0.9%, and last time I saw my credit score it was around 820.

American Airlines AAdvantage card is what I have. They frequently have killer sign up promotions, I believe I got 60,000 miles upon signing up + $200 off flights I was in the middle of purchasing.

I suspect any major airline company will have some fantastic promotions in the coming months, trying to lure people to purchase flights. Keep your eyes peeled on them.

We just use it on groceries and immediately pay it back, it's a frequent flyer one so we use the points on flights regularly

1. Its my first card ever that I got just over a year ago. Capital One Quicksilver. I was at probably 540 when I got it and now I'm at 750, so im looking at getting a different card. Sucks because I'll probably have to keep this one and eat the yearly fee.

You might be able to get them to upgrade it to the Capital One Quicksilver instead of the Capital One Quicksilver One, which is the one with the fee. I'm pretty sure that would keep the credit line intact for age.
