On March 1st the U.S. had 23 confirmed cases, researchers now think that 28,000 had been infected by then.

New autopsies showed that two people in one county had died due to Coronavirus complications, one on February 6th, the other on the 17th. Previously the earliest deaths attributed to Covid-19 had been on February 26th in Seattle

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has tasked coroners and medical examiners with reviewing the state's deaths as far back as December to see when people really started dying of COVID-19.

At a press briefing on Wednesday, Newsom asked them to "dig even deeper" and conduct autopsies on people who may have died of coronavirus long before it was known that the illness had spread to California, according to the Mercury News.

The goal, Newsom said, is to "guide a deeper understanding of when this pandemic really started to impact Californians directly," the Hill reported.

"When this occurred is important forensic information, profoundly significant in understanding the epidemiology of this disease, all of those things are brought to bear with more clarity and light," the governor told reporters. "Not only because of this specific announcement, but I imagine subsequent announcements that may be made by similar efforts all across the state of California."

It wasn't that long ago that people saying California had few cases because they got sick much earlier were accused of either trolling or peddling a conspiracy.

This has me re-thinking what it was that me & my family got sick with late last December to mid January. We all got sick and some of us got sick twice before it was over. We all thought it was the flu but looking back it wasnt like any flu we had before. Some of us had trouble breathing & the dry cough. It got so bad that I became paranoid about it turning into pneumonia.

I went to see the doctor twice and was told that it was probably just a stronger flu going around and to keep an eye on the other symptoms. My brothers doctor pretty much told him the same thing.

Im not sure if I can go get tested since Im currently not feeling sick. The news keep talking about how its in such short supply.

Why would you want to get tested if you aren't sick anymore?

Its a pretty crazy situation. I got pretty sick in January. It felt like the flu, but amplified as fuck. I could not get out of bed for 2 days and in the middle of it I literally shit myself in my sleep which was the first time I did something like since I was in diapers.

I thought I could maybe donate blood if I have the antibodies. Theyre doing all kinds of research and tracing I dunno .

Also it would be a relief to know if Im immune to one or both strains of the virus. IIRC the worst strain is the one with the dry cough & trouble breathing.

If you had it back in early February somehow can they test for that or is the window closed?

They can probably test your antibodies to see if it's immune.

There were a number of Lakers (including Anthony Davis) who were out with flu-like symptoms on/around December 3rd. That was about a month after they came back from games played in Shanghai.
