Naw, mostly because her story involves her being openly assaulted in a public area with a Joe Biden so deeply confused as to think it was consensual, and then so unaware of his surroundings that he then lashed out on her. Listening to her story makes it sound like Michael Scott looked at a bunch of Joe Biden memes and then constructed what he thought was a realistic rape scenario.

Perhaps it happened, but it immediately strikes people as strange and outrageous, which is why nobody is going out on a limb to report on it heavily.

Main difference is Biden was a household name for over ten years. Most people had no idea who Kavanaugh was until he was up for SCOTUS. There's literally no reason for her suddenly bringing this up now.

Part of the problem is that there isn't any buy in by "neutral" parties. The story has been primarily pushed by strong Bernie supporters and a little bit by some Trump adjacent people. For a society that isn't as all in on #metoo as the media tries to portray, if you hear the same people who were saying "Biden has Alzheimer's, he should step aside!" to no avail now saying "Well actually...uh...he's a rapist! Did you hear that podcast?", it looks like convenient believing.

I posted this in a topic a few weeks ago in response to "Why are the Kavanaugh and Biden accusations treated differently?"

This isn't my tedtalk for "Why Joe Biden is Innocent", but the Blasey-Ford Kavanaugh accusation was set at a specific party where the accused people were present and essentially came down to whether you believed that Kavanaugh was not too drunk to even be able to know whether he did it or not.

Whether it should matter to people or not, the setting is also inherently more believable. People recognize that sexual assault happens at parties, so once you connect someone who attends a lot of parties to someone who drinks to excess and blacks out at said parties, it isn't as much of a stretch to believe that something could happen.

The story against Biden seems less realistic (which obviously doesn't it mean it isn't true). If you replace the two people involved with "Person A" and "Person B", it doesn't sound believable in the same way that "Person A was at party and was brought to a room where intoxicated people including Person B tried to grope her". It's more brazen, it's in a public building, there are no drugs or alcohol involved, etc. It's also the type of thing where you would suspect someone who would do that in such a manner would have other occasions of behavior at that level.

I think this is the main difference between how people see the two scenarios. Blasey Ford was not believed primarily because of who she was accusing, not because her story didn't seem believable.

In none of this have I said anything about whether you *should* find the accusation credible, but this is my explanation for why it hasn't gotten traction.

But that was also true for Kavanaugh's accuser, so I guess if you want to be fair you either have to say Kavanaugh was unfairly grilled or Biden benefits from a double-standard.

That said, frankly, Trump has been such a terrible leader during COVID-19, I honestly would rather vote for Biden regardless.

What is the desired outcome here? You want him shamed and out of the race? Not going to happen, when the counterpoint is Trump even if this was credible it wouldn't be enough to push him out.

And at least for now, it's not particularly credible and is probably already getting more cycles than it deserves. We are talking a public assault on a woman he just met, things like that don't happen in isolation. If that happened then he certainly did a whole lot more and we just wait for the other victims to come forward to start lending credence.

It's not like we have a tape of him talking about how he likes to commit sexual assault on women he just met. Or a paper trail of hush money payments. I mean if we had that, surely it would be different.

But is there proof that it was her mother calling in? Again not saying Biden didn't do it, but that call isn't exactly evidence. Caller isn't named and the senator isn't named. Further, I don't have google play to see if that tweet is correct or not (wouldn't be the first or last time Twitter concocted some bs).
