I am using PCSX2 and I looked up how to use gameshark cheats and I got an explanation that seemed a little intensive.

I own a PS2 gameshark disc, can I not just use that? Or would it somehow not work?

Look up .pnach codes for whatever game you want.

Emulation isn't a problem in most cases, piracy is. Most people just use emulation for piracy, but it can also be used with legal copies, or even original software if they are on compatible media.

In this case, it seems OP is using emulation as a replacement for official hardware, given they mention the Gameshark disc they own and want to use.

Yeah for what its worth I own the game I want to use(Gran turismo 3) and the gameshark disc as well.

I just wanna get all the cars and have fun without grinding for money since i have no save data

i remember it not working on epsxe, so you had to use a plugin called PEC

this doesnt help with pcsx2

I've even been able to show off my legal PSP backups in the past. If something strays over to piracy though, mods are shutting it down.

I Ioved my PSP but I will never understand Sony's bigger picture with UMD discs. They were literally designed to self-destruct over time. Once a bit of dust or lint or something got in there it just sanded the disc as it spun. It's as if they didn't want any physical format on that platform to survive as time went on.

i remember talking about emulating tales of abyss and i literally showed pictures of me having the game and putting the disc into my computer and the mod was like ok but youre a dick and kept it deleted

There will always be mods that interpret rules differently
